Miles Sampson has been practicing in architecture since 2004 and is the owner of Miles Sampson Sustainable Architecture | Innovative Design.

Miles Sampson studied architecture in Dublin and Denmark, receiving his bachelor of architecture from University College Dublin with honours. He worked in both Germany and New York before setting up his own practice. Born in a remote part of County Clare, Miles developed an early affinity with the rural Irish landscape which continues to influence his approach to architecture. Sustainable design has always played an important role in his work, from his early houses that featured on RTE to the apartment building in Irelands first Eco Village in Cloughjordan, Co. Tipperary.

He currently divides his practice between Barcelona and Ireland allowing a cross pollination of ideas in his work inspired by the rugged Irish landscape and Barcelona's cosmopolitan ambience.


Project Spotlight

This certified passive house (certified by the passiv haus institute in Germany) has only a wood pellet stove and solar panels to provide domestic hotwater and back up heat. The house comfort levels have also been rigorously tested, having been lived in through the cold winter of 2010/2011 with weeks of minus 15 degrees outside. The house has been designed using a contemporary style which has given the clients great freedom in how the house is arranged.
